Creating Central Idea

What makes a good central idea; a good central idea determines the overall theme of the unit, is written as a broad statement, is clear and concise, is worth knowing, is true, is value free, is globally transferrable, can be studied at any age, has a degree of complexity, has a degree of ambiguity that promotes discovery

Thinking about how the Central Idea is linked to the Transdisciplinary Theme. The Central Idea sums up the most important parts of the Transdisciplinary Theme.

In communities we should upgrade our responsibilities to share finite resources with other living things.

There are rights and responsibilities when sharing finite resources with living things and when solving conflicts.

Communities unite to save the planet and making it a better place for future generations.

Globally individuals come together to save the planet because communities often come into conflict for finite resources.

Globally sharing finite resources within communities can reduce or induce conflict with people and other living things.

Sharing finite resources with people in communities help create peace and conflict.

Responsibilities within communities to share finite resources with people, plants and animals and access to equal opportunities.
